Grace Palmer, your tutor.

Discover how to tap into your creativity to write short stories that matter to you.

This course will help your writing flow; each week there will be plenty of prompts and opportunities to try different writing techniques. We will discuss story structure and the elements of what makes a satisfying short story. Bring a fresh notebook and your favourite pen to write in class and capture all the tips on the craft of writing.

Your tutor is Grace Palmer, a writer whose flash fiction and poetry can be found in literary magazines. She studied for an MA in Creative Writing at Bath Spa University in 2017. She is a creative writing facilitator, and organises Fresh Fiction short story nights for writers in South Petherton and ran Novel Nights in Bristol for ten years, supporting writers at the start of their careers. Grace is passionate about helping writers craft stories. She has taught at Bristol Folk House since 2017, and the national organisation The Joy Club since 2022. Many of her former pupils are now published.
